Strategic
Planning

The Table de développement social de LaSalle’s ongoing collective work is based on the LaSalle strategic social development plan 2023-27, which was approved by its institutional partners and adopted by its members in the fall of 2023.

The Table’s work covers the entire LaSalle borough.

Quick reminder

Local social development refers to a cooperative process developed and implemented by local stakeholders and citizens to improve the potential of individuals and communities as well as social, cultural, economic and environmental living conditions. This process is based on an overarching vision and an integrated approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of various development factors with the aim of offering complementary supports.

“LIVING WITHOUT AN AIM IS LIKE SAILING WITHOUT A COMPASS.”

– John Ruskin

Our Vision

Everything we do is for the people of LaSalle! The river is central to LaSalle’s identity and inspired us to create the navigation tool. The four directions helped us organize and curate our work.

Our values are at the centre of this revealing image. The concept of inclusion is at its heart!

Local Social Development

The participation of local individuals and communities in decision-making and actions is among the basic principles of local social development that involve:

Empowering
(Capacity Development)

Promoting cross-sector
partnerships and action

Reducing
Social Inequalities

The alignment and promotion of public policies that improve living conditions and well-being

We consider local social development and community development to be synonyms.
